Brandi Willis Schreiber is the author of poetry, nonfiction, and prize-winning fiction. A longtime native of West Texas, her work has appeared in Authors Publish Magazine, St. Katherine Review, New Texas: A Journal of Culture and Literature, The Texas Review, Red River Review, All Things Dickinson: An Encyclopedia of Emily Dickinson's World, and elsewhere. Her newsletter, “Writing from the Desert Places,” features essays, interviews, meditations, and devotionals that explore the beauty and desert experiences of Eastern Orthodox Christianity from a corner of West Texas.
Her first book and audiobook, A Long Walk with Mary: A Personal Search for the Mother of God, was published by Ancient Faith Publishing in 2021 and is “a deeply personal but beautifully universal memoir” of a year spent studying and seeking Mary and integrating her into her spiritual life. This summer 2026, Ancient Faith Kids published her first children’s book, The Island and Saint Aidan, which was illustrated by Micah Peek. This very short chapter book tells the story of St. Aidan of Lindisfarne and how he first met the Holy Island of Lindisfarne in the 6th century and recognized the island’s value and beauty. Written for her son, it’s a universal story for all children (and adults) about the innate worth with which God has made all His creation.
